When my wife Jenn and I dreamed up Hand to Heart Village, we knew we’d need serious funding to make it real — legal fees, nonprofit certification, and seed money to help families in crisis. But instead of just asking for help, I wanted to build something that could help fund it, not just once, but over time.

That’s why I started SoftLab Washing.

Pressure washing and exterior cleaning was something I already enjoyed. I loved being outside, seeing instant results, and keeping our home looking its best. It was also a business I could start with low overhead and grow with purpose.

SoftLab isn’t just about clean homes — it’s about building something bigger. A business that helps us fund our nonprofit dreams, support other families, and still serve our community with excellence.

We’re not asking for handouts. We’re asking to work — just like the families we want to serve are doing every day while caring for a child in the hospital.

And to honor everyone who joins us in this mission, we’re keeping a record of every supporter’s name, and we’ll display it proudly on our website and inside Hand to Heart Village once it’s built.

  • Our house washing services are priced at $0.085 per square foot. Simply pull your house up on Zillow and multiply the listed square footage by 0.085. There is a minimum charge of $200. Most homes fall between $200–$400 depending on size and build.

  • Yes! When neighbors book together, each home receives a $10 discount off their house wash. It’s our way of saying thank you for sharing and supporting the cause together.

  • We’re donating 20% of your entire invoice to help launch Hand to Heart Village.
    For example: If your house wash costs $200, your invoice will clearly show that $40 is being donated to the Hand to Heart Village Campaign.

  • Not at all. There’s no extra cost to you. Simply book a wash, and we’ll donate 20% of your total — that’s our commitment.

  • Not yet. Hand to Heart Village is in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Once approved, future donations will be tax-deductible.

  • Yes — your invoice will clearly show the amount and where it’s going. This is not a receipt for tax deductions. That will be clearly stated on the receipt.

  • Every dollar helps cover legal and administrative startup costs, nonprofit certification, marketing materials, website development, and the first round of assistance for families facing long hospital stays — including food and fuel cards, and hotel assistance.

  • Yes! We’re keeping a list of every person who supports this campaign, and your name will be proudly displayed on our website and in Hand to Heart Village once it’s built.

  • We understand! But even just one-time support during May helps build something that will impact real families in crisis. We'd love the chance to earn your business and your trust.

  • Hand to Heart Village is a registered North Carolina LLC and is currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. SoftLab Washing is a separate, for-profit business that is donating 20% of all house wash revenue during May to help fund the nonprofit’s launch.

  • All donation amounts are recorded and tracked separately in our campaign ledger. At the end of the campaign, we will publicly share the total amount raised and how those funds were allocated toward legal, startup, and family support expenses.

  • Absolutely. We believe in transparency. If you’d like to see our NC LLC registration, status of our 501(c)(3) application, or how campaign funds are handled, just reach out — we’re happy to provide it.
